The Art of Story Catching with author Gretchen Griffith. Join author Gretchen Griffith, a self-proclaimed "story catcher" for a reception and evening of Appalachian history. Gretchen has been instrumental in capturing Appalachian culture through oral history projects that have resulted in several narrative nonfiction books that can be displayed in the Red Awning Gallery.

We welcome submission of Western North Carolina events focused on our heritage themes of mountain music, crafts, foodways, outdoors and Cherokee culture. Please submit two weeks in advance.
