The regional information desk at the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center is staffed by Blue Ridge National Heritage Area employees and supported by volunteers. Although the majority of current volunteers live in the Asheville area, anyone residing within the 25-county region represented by the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area is invited to volunteer.
Visitors from throughout the United States and from other countries are greeted at the regional information desk and provided with materials to enhance their trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway and around the region. Volunteers answer questions, provide directions, and refer visitors to the National Park Service Information Desk when needed.
The Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center is open to the public daily, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and New Year’s. Hours of operation are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Flexible volunteer schedules are available, with the option of working once weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. For more information, or to request a volunteer application packet, contact:
