Women’s History Trail Sculpture Community Celebration Day

March 23

Live Music begins at 10:30 a.m. prior to the unveiling of this historic work of art.

We invite you to join the Folk Heritage Association of Macon County and Women’s History Trail for the dedication of the “Sowing the Seeds of the Future“, a new sculpture by Wesley Wofford at Women’s History Park. The date for the event is Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Women’s History Park is located at 592 East Main Street in Franklin, NC.

Entertainment is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. and following the ceremony in uptown Franklin. Please note that there is limited parking at the site of the celebration. The FHAMC is encouraging visitors to park at East Franklin Elementary School and use the free shuttle service. The school is located at 100 Watauga Street, Franklin, NC, 28734.

For everyone’s safety, pedestrians should use the crosswalks provided. In case of inclement weather, information will be posted on our website for an alternate location for the event.

The Unveiling Ceremony, Sculpture Dedication, WHT Trailhead Designation and Donation to the Town of Franklin will begin at 11 am.  Other activities are also planned prior and after the ceremony celebration. 

Since parking is limited, visitors are encouraged to park nearby at East Franklin Elementary School (100 Watauga Street, Franklin) and ride the free shuttle to the site. For everyone’s safety, pedestrians should use the crosswalks provided. In case of inclement weather, information will be posted on our website for an alternate location for the event.
