Whimsical Felted Flowers with Ruth Duckworth

May 5, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$60 – $65

Come join us as we explore the art of wet felting with multicolored dyed wool. Learn how to create felted flower masterpieces inspired by your favorite blooms. You can make a flower into a pin or use it to embellish a hat or scarf or bag.  We will start off getting a feel for the felting process by first making a bookmark.

Please bring an old towel. All other supplies will be provided.

$10 supply fee for wool (included in registration fee.)

Ruth Duckworth is a self-proclaimed “Fiberholic” whose fiber journey began as a young child when she was gifted an “Easy Weaver”. Over the years she has explored anything fiber related including spinning, weaving, felting, hat making, quilting, paper making…. She has been an educator in the Swannanoa Valley  for over 30 years and has taught crafts at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts as well as  Montreat and Camp Rockmont. You can find her in her studio at the Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League Red House Studios and Galleries where she was Artist in Residence in 2019.
