The Blue Ridge Parkway Presents: Fridays at the Folk Art Center

June 11, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

FREE

Appalachian Trickster Tales

Join a Parkway ranger for an evening of folklore, focusing on Tricksters. We’ll be looking at Rabbit, a powerful figure from Cherokee mythology, and Jack, who you may remember from a certain beanstalk. But what else are they famous for? How do they reflect their different cultures? Just how tricky does a trickster have to be, anyway? The whole family can find out during an evening of story-telling and audience participation!

Meet at the Folk Art Center at Milepost 382 in Asheville.  Program will be outside on the grounds.  Bring a chair or blanket to sit on.  Please be aware that the Folk Art Center will NOT be open during the program and there are no restrooms available on site.

Call 828-298-5330, ext. 302 for more information.
