Hendersonville 4th of July Celebration

The Hendersonville Visitor Center and Henderson County Parks and Recreation are teaming up to offer a family-friendly 4th of July Celebration. The evening’s activities will include inflatables, kids games and activities, food trucks, and 2 stages featuring live music, with the evening being capped-off with the annual fireworks display.

7pm – The Music on Main concert at the Visitor Center will feature Dashboard Blue, a five-piece band based out of Asheville that plays a wide variety of music including Rock, R&B, 50’s, Disco, Funk, Pop, Beach, Motown, Swing, Country and the classics.  Concert-goers can expect to hear such perennial favorites as “Day Tripper,” “Margaritaville,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Drive My Car,” “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” “Stand by Me” and “How Sweet It Is.”

7pm – The stage at the Historic Courthouse will feature Lynn Goldsmith & The Jeter Mountain Band playing bluegrass and traditional mountain music.

7pm – Main Street will be closed to car traffic from 2nd Avenue south to Caswell Street. There will be food trucks, games, face painting, inflatables, a craft corner, giveaways and more.

Between 9:15 & 9:30pm – A festive Independence Day fireworks display will take place between 9:15 & 9:30 pm. You are encouraged to find a spot to see the display by 9pm. The launch site is off of South Grove Street, which will ensure prime viewing of the display from South Main Street and the Music on Main concert area as well as many other vantage points on the south side of town near the intersection of Hwy. 225 South and Hwy. 176. A large balloon will be launched the morning of the 4th to signify the visibility of the fireworks show, if you can see the “Big Balloon,” you can see the fireworks from your location. Tune to WTZQ Radio Station AM 1600 / FM 95.3 for music that will be synced to the fireworks show. See a map of verified viewing areas here.

At either concert location, you are encouraged to bring a chair and sit back, relax and enjoy the music from 7-9pm, followed by the fireworks display.  Alcoholic beverages, backpacks and coolers are prohibited. Admission is free.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will be postponed until 8:00 pm; if the weather does not improve by 8:00 pm the performance will be canceled.

The Fireworks may be viewed from downtown Hendersonville and the south side of town near the intersection of Hwy. 225 South and Hwy. 176. A large red balloon will be launched the morning of the 4th to signify the visibility of the fireworks show, if you can see the “Big Red Balloon”, you can see the fireworks from your location. The new fireworks launch site is off of South Grove Street.

Bring a chair, the concert seating area opens after 5:30 pm; early admission is strictly prohibited. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be postponed for an hour; if the weather doesn’t improve by 8 pm, it will be canceled. No alcoholic beverages, backpacks, or coolers are allowed.
