Join us May 6, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Friends & Family Day at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, North Carolina.

Tour our open studios, participate in hands-on making, watch demonstrations, enjoy music & dance performances, savor local food, and learn about the Folk School. You won’t want to miss this day full of energy, creativity, and excitement. Stop by the Keith House when you arrive, and grab a map with a list of locations and activities before you begin.

Studio activities include cookie decorating, felted soap making, sewing quilt squares, weaving with a drinking-straw loom, carving hearts with the Brasstown Carvers, and much more. In addition, there will be demonstrations in the Blacksmithing studio, and music, dance, and storytelling activities in Community Room all day long. Learn about the Folk School’s founding by visiting our History Center, which will be open during the event.

Food vendors, including Smoky Mountain BBQ, Hansen’s Tasty Tacos, Frank/Granieris, Heyman Kettle Corn, and Black Stagg Coffee, will be on-site. Our Craft Shop will also be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
