Blue Ridge Parkway: Fridays at the Folk Art Center – It’s for What Ails You

August 13, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

FREE

Join a Parkway ranger for an evening of odd illnesses and even odder remedies. From turpentine to axes under the bed, we’ll examine how and why certain traditional medicines developed in the Southern Appalachians and ask ourselves:

“What might I resort to if the closest hospital was days away?”

Meet at the Folk Art Center at Milepost 382 in Asheville.  Program will be outside on the grounds.  Bring a chair or blanket to sit on.  Please be aware that the Folk Art Center will NOT be open during the program and there are no restrooms available on site.

Call 828-298-5330, ext. 302 for more information.
