Woolworth Walk
Add to Trip

Woolworth Walk in downtown Asheville keeps alive a piece of Asheville history while fostering the vibrant creative present. The historic F. W. Woolworth Building was home to a Woolworth store until 1989. After a stint as a Family Dollar, the building became Woolworth Walk and was restored to feature the original colors, original floors, and original soda fountain.

Today, these original characteristics complement the work of more than 170 local artisans. The 20,000 square foot space features two floors full of work. The goal is for the organization to serve as an outlet for artists in a way that allows them to focus more on creating and less on the business side of things. Once artists are accepted, they can design and decorate their space in order to best showcase their own work.

Visitors to Woolworth Walk may encounter the delicious smells of the old-time soda fountain before they can even get to the craft. Artists of every level have work on display. A featured artist exhibit rotates periodically. Work for sale includes pottery, painting, photography, fiber, wood, metals, glass, jewelry, and more.

Hours: Monday-Saturday 11 am-6 pm, Sunday 11 am-5 pm
