Whitewoven Textile Arts Studio
Add to Trip

Whitewoven Textile Arts Studio is located in a quiet corner of Haywood County between Lake Junaluska and Maggie Valley. Sheree Sorrells has had a public studio for more than 40 years and has been at her current location for nine years. Anything textile is of interest to her. A member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, Sheree’s work involves hand weaving and mixed media techniques. Her “GraffitiMats” are unique fabric collages. Her painted floorcloths are developed from the needs of the kitchen and are finished to be tough, durable, and beautiful.

Visitors to Whitewoven Textile Arts Studio can see large room-sized painted floorcloths in process, fabric collage tablemats, and two large floor looms in operation. A retail area showcases a rug rack displaying more than 20 rugs and samples and a large display of “GraffitiMats” ready for purchase. There are a wide range of retail items for sale at the studio including tablemats, rugs in various sizes, Christmas ornaments, and painted floorcloths in smaller sizes.
