Turchin Center for the Visual Arts
Add to Trip

Stunning art, critical thinking and a world of workshops, under one roof

The Turchin Center, neatly situated on King Street in Boone at the intersection of university and community, consistently honors its mission of creating dynamic opportunities for persons of all ages and backgrounds to experience the power, joy and healing aspects of the visual arts.

In addition to free-of-charge exhibitions on display throughout the year (the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has supported Turchin through gifts of Warhol pieces), the center offers a variety of workshops, from metalsmithing to Tai Chi, along with outreach programs aimed at children (for example, a workshop called “Blazing Easels”) and other communities, especially those with special needs.  Recent exhibitions have ranged from contemporary woodcuts to “Art from Down Under: Australia to New Zealand.”
