The Gallery holds a prime spot on Main Street in Historic Downtown Rutherfordton. The 1800 square foot building was built more than a century ago and features large front windows and tall ceilings. The Gallery opened as a custom framing business in 1979, but when Judith Padgett bought the business in 1993, she had different plans in mind. Today visitors will find a gallery of all North American made, handcrafted arts. Craft offerings have expanded since Judith took the helm, and now the space is half gallery, half frame shop. The gallery of craft greets visitors as they enter with custom framing taking place in the back half of the building.
The Gallery offers a large and diverse selection of all North American made handcrafted items, including locally, regionally, and nationally sourced pieces. Color is in large supply! A wide selection of pottery includes functional and non-functional pieces. Other offerings include fiber arts, blown and stained glass, jewelry, pewter, wood, and other unique items.
