Red House Studios & Gallery
Add to Trip

Red House Studios & Gallery in Black Mountain provides the opportunity for total immersion in the creative process. The building, built in the early 20th century, was originally part of the Monte Vista Hotel. Today, the many rooms and multiple floors make an ideal home for the Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League, an organization with well over 100 members, dedicated to creating a thriving arts and crafts community.

This community is multifaceted. The Red House features multiple gallery spaces that host shows typically lasting around two months. Former hotel rooms make ideal artist studios, and more than a dozen artists work here practicing a wide range of mediums and displaying their creations in individual studio spaces. Multiple classrooms accommodate the teaching and learning of many different styles and techniques.

Visitors to the Red House Studios & Gallery can explore a world of creativity. Affiliated studio artists work in jewelry, painting, mosaic, sculpture, painting, and much more. A varied and dynamic range of instruction includes classes in printmaking, photography, silk dyeing, cold wax, painting, and more.
