The cooperative gallery Number 7 Arts is the longest running art gallery in the Brevard area. First opening in 1999 at 7 East Main Street in Brevard, the gallery has since moved but retains its unique name. Still on Main Street, Number 7 Arts sits prominently on the downtown square in Brevard, where it relocated in 2017 after extensive renovations to the McMinn Building. This building is the oldest brick structure in Brevard and maintains much the same appearance that it would have had in the early 20th century.
Number 7 Arts features the work of more than 30 artists mostly hailing from the Brevard area. As a program of the Transylvania Community Arts Council, Number 7 Arts shares the mission statement: ”To celebrate and nurture the creative spirit of all Transylvania County Artists,” and it has continued that tradition of fostering the arts in the community since its inception.
Visitors to Number 7 Arts will enjoy the tall ceilings and numerous windows that create an excellent space for displaying art and craft. Its wide variety of offerings includes pottery, clay, photography, basketry, oil and acrylic painting, wood working, watercolor, jewelry, wearable art, copper enamel, stained glass, and pastels.
Hours: Monday-Saturday 11 am–5 pm, Sunday 12 pm-4 pm
