Lézard Brevard
Add to Trip

Lézard Brevard occupies an 1860s farmhouse on Hwy 276 just south of Brevard. Named in honor of owner Pam LaBauve’s Louisiana French heritage (Lézard is French for lizard) and the indigenous Spotted Red Newt of Transylvania County, Lézard Brevard focuses on weaving together the past and the present. In 2018 Pam’s daughter, Savanna, spotted the “for sale” sign on the pebbledash farmhouse and they stopped to inquire. Pam, a jewelry designer and former shop and gallery owner in Louisiana, felt a strong pull to the positive energy of the gallery space, so she bought the property. Pam immersed herself in the art community and provided a space for artists to display their work.

Visitors can browse the curated collection with work from more than 50 artists including paintings, aromatherapy jewelry, stained glass, weavings, raku ceramics, fused glass and other jewelry, hand-turned wood bowls, botanical jewelry, photography, carved wood spirits, batik fabric jewelry, fabric, pottery, and acrylic pour jewelry.

The house itself offers two floors of gallery space, but visitors also can enjoy the outdoor pavilion which hosts classes in acrylic pour jewelry-making, palette knife oil painting, acrylic painting, raku hand-built pottery, hand-painted coasters, fall theme oil painting, and aromatherapy jewelry.
