Since 1985, Heartwood has focused on the best of American Craft, with local and regional artists in addition to work from studios from across the U.S. and Canada. Located on historic Main Street in Saluda, Heartwood Gallery honors and celebrates American Craft every day, year-round. Owner Shelley DeKay, a self-taught hobby weaver, originally opened a space in Saluda called Heartwood Hammocks and Crafts. Shelley started out selling her woven scarves and other items, including handmade hammocks, and gradually added regional craft to sell in the 1,200-square-foot retail space.
Visitors to Heartwood will enjoy the feel of an old-time Main Street that Saluda still exudes. The gallery welcomes natural light with floor-to-ceiling front windows. Items offered for display and sale include a variety of handmade ceramics, fiber art, wood, glass, metal, prints, candles, jewelry, pottery, garden art, and home furnishings.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 10 am–5 pm, Friday and Saturday 10 am–6 pm, Sunday 12–4 pm
