Artisan League of Little Switzerland was founded in 2012 as an outlet for community artisans of all levels to share and market their work. To be a member of the league, an artisan must be either a full or part-time resident of Little Switzerland. For work to be shown in the gallery, it must be original and handmade. This requirement assures that all the arts and craft in the gallery is made by residents. The gallery is located on the second floor of Little Switzerland Books & Beans. While the cooperative occupies a lovely, cozy space, the gallery offers works from many of its 27 members. New works are added on a regular basis throughout the season.
Little Switzerland has long attracted visitors and earned its name from its perch atop the Blue Ridge escarpment. Visitors to the Artisan League of Little Switzerland can enjoy a gallery along with magnificent views. The gallery offers a space with an array of art and craft including basketry, fiber, food items, jewelry, books, painting, photography, pottery, woodwork and more.
