Add to Trip

Ariel Gallery puts craft front and center in downtown Asheville. Owned and operated by the exhibiting artists, this gallery is a premier showcase for original handmade jewelry, ceramics, fiber, glass, woodwork, and furniture. Ariel opened in 2001 and has been located on Biltmore Avenue since 2009. Whether guests are looking for objects to adorn their bodies, or for special pieces to complete interior design ideas, they can find one-of-a-kind and limited-edition work from Ariel artists to fulfill a variety of needs.

All Ariel artists are from Western North Carolina. The Ariel membership juries artists looking to join the gallery. All work is created by established professionals working full-time in their fields. The artists of the cooperative are known nationally and internationally for their respective skills and style of craft.

Visitors to Ariel Gallery will be greeted by member artists who can give detailed information about the process of making, the materials used, and the philosophical aspects of the works on display. Custom orders from any of the member artists are welcomed. Visitors will see turned wood, carved stoneware pottery, raku vessels and tile wall pieces, fabric art, handcrafted furniture, blown glass, fine jewelry, and beautifully designed wooden boxes.

Hours: Daily 11 am-5 pm March-December, Friday-Monday in January and February
