Kananesgi Art Show

This judged art competition event highlights the best EBCI artists and crafters. View over 1,000 pieces of Cherokee original art.
About the Event:
Kananesgi is the Cherokee word for spider. The spider was chosen because, in Cherokee culture, the spider represents creativity and being good with your hands. Some Cherokee will even run their babies hands through spider webs to embed that creativity into their children.
What’s special about Kananesgi is that the event gives artists and designers an opportunity to be creative, have professional and business development training, increase workforce development, and empowerment by encouraging our people to learn about and physically express their Cherokee identity. These events serve as learning and gathering opportunities.
We are excited to share Cherokee art and culture with you!
