Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center

The Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center, located near Robbinsville, North Carolina, offers a variety of programs that preserve and promote Southern Appalachian culture.

The Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center is housed in the old Stecoah School building, which was built of native rock with the skill and labor of local community members. The school and its students were photographed on the dedication day ceremony in 1926. That panoramic photograph is now reproduced in an 18' long mural overlooking the historic auditorium.

The Center is home to the Stecoah Artisans Gallery & Guild, a regional artists gallery featuring a variety of original artworks and fine crafts, the Stecoah Valley Food Ventures culinary co-op, and the Stecoah Textile Studio which offers classes year round.

Annual events and festivals include:
• Annual Ramp Dinner and Concert in April
• An Appalachian Evening summer concert series
• Annual Harvest Festival in October

The school building houses a "Cherokee in Stecoah Valley" exhibit which is devoted to the heritage of local Cherokee families.

Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday 10 am - 5 pm Year-round
Saturday 10 am - 5 pm April - December only
Sunday Noon - 5 pm June - October only
Extended hours for concerts and special events.

Admission

Admission to the gallery and school building is free.

Fees are charged for concerts and special events.

Location

The Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center is located on NC Hwy. 28 North between Fontana Village and Bryson City, approximately ½ mile south of NC Hwy. 143.
