Women in Traditional Music

An Evening with Sheila Kay Adams, Jeanette Queen and Carol Rifkin, Thursday, April 17 at 7:30 PM at the White Horse in Black Mountain, NC.

Experience Mountain songs, stories, ballads, fiddle tunes, dance & history with three nationally known, powerful performing artists. After an amazing reception at the Tommy Jarrell Festival & great show at the Isis, Adams Queen & Rifkin head to White Horse Black Mountain.

The Show: Soaring vocals, sweet harmonies, banjo, fiddle, guitar and feet create a lively and engaging show full of historic content and flat out fun. Both Adams and Rifkin performed with legendary NC fiddler Tommy Jarrell and his legacy shines through in their music and stories, both appeared in the movie “Songcatcher.” Jeanette Queen’s powerful vocals and playing reprise her famed mother’s legacy. Their 30+-year friendship, engaging wit and the joy with which they embrace the music and culture is a sight to behold.
