Join us for Raptor Rendezvous at the Cradle of Forestry
Pisgah Forest, NC, 9/11/26: Nestled deep in the Pink Beds of Pisgah National Forest, ecological diversity flourishes, and here, high above the treetops, you can see birds soar. North Carolina is home to over 480 different species of birds, and out of those, 28 are birds of prey, a group called raptors.
Animal lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and families are invited to the Cradle of Forestry for Raptor Rendezvous, a special, unforgettable live bird demonstration with Jeff Curtis of Curtis Wright Falconry! You’ll get the chance to view birds of prey up close and personal, while learning about these graceful animals’ role in the food chain of the wild.
Beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19th, visitors can witness a family-friendly live raptor show, where guests can view birds up-close and get a rare glimpse into the special relationship between falconer and falcon. The event will be held in the Cradle of Forestry’s outdoor amphitheater.
Raptors are wild predators, majestic, powerful, and unpredictable. To keep everyone safe and ensure an enjoyable experience for visitors and birds alike, we ask that you observe from a respectful distance of at least 4 feet and please leave pets at home. Following these simple guidelines will help every guest and every bird have an unforgettable experience!
