Gather ‘Round Date Set
To celebrate the beginning of our 10th anniversary year, we've moved this year's annual meeting to November 13th to coincide with the November 2003 date of the Congressional designation of our region as the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area. Mark your calendars and watch for more details.
Blue Ridge Traditional Artists Selected for GPI Celebration
Musicans include R. G. Absher, Elkville String Band and the Junior Appalachian Musicians. Featured artists include blacksmiths, wood crafters, broom makers, chair caners and a quilter.

Top Honor for NC Traditional Artist Sheila Kay Adams
The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area congratulates Sheila Kay Adams, a North Carolina traditional artist and resident of Marshall who has been awarded the prestigious 2013 National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Grants Announced, Roseanne Cash to Perform
The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Partnership recently announced eighteen grants totaling nearly $225,000 in funding to preserve and promote Western North Carolina’s heritage. Roseanne Cash will headline a concert in June at the Blue Ridge Music Center.
