What makes a nation? It’s created through the collaboration of diverse communities and the ingenuity of trailblazers. This is never more apparent than in the latest edition of the Alliance of National Heritage Areas’ publication, Heart & Soul.
As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, Heritage Areas were asked to reflect on what connects the past and present within their regions. Between 32 states, 1 territory, and 62 designated National Heritage Areas, the connections are vast. Some of the threads include the American Revolution, technology, cultures, natural wonders, and trails.
No origin story is too small when it comes to the development of a nation or a culture. We are built upon diversity, ingenuity, and community. And it is truly monumental what people can achieve when they work together.
