The Grove Park Inn invites the public to join the celebration of its’ 100th anniversary Friday, July 12, 2013. Events will be held throughout the day from 10 AM to 10 PM.
The celebration begins at 10 AM with a guided history tour of the legendary hotel. Learn about the people and events that make up the storied history of the Inn.
The event continues featuring traditional mountain music, local artists, and demonstrations. Musicans include R. G. Absher, Elkville String Band and the Junior Appalachian Musicians. Featured artists include blacksmiths, wood crafters, broom makers, chair caners and a quilter.
The highlight of the evening with be the Time Capsule Unveiling in the Great Hall at 8:30 PM, followed by the Grove Park Inn Birthday Toast. Fireworks and a performance by the Appalachian Mountain Girls conclude the event.
