The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area (BRNHA) serves 25 counties in Western North Carolina through grants, training and cultural programs.
We’re especially proud of how our grants program has impacted our communities. Here’s one example:
The environmental non-profit organization, Asheville GreenWorks, was awarded a grant to support the creation of a demonstration pollinator meadow along the Wilma Dykeman Greenway, in the River Arts District. This project transformed a once polluted, desolate landscape into a beautiful, lively ecosystem.

Since BRNHA’s inception in 2003, we have awarded 188 grants to partners in all 25 Western North Carolina counties leveraging a total of economic impact of more than $8.4 million.
