“Love” Exhibit

January 26 - March 3

After a three-week closure for fresh paint, the Haywood County Arts Council (HCAC) proudly reopened its doors on Friday, January 26th. Tonya Harwood, the executive director of HCAC, expressed her delight and said, “It is just so wonderful to have new artwork on the walls and visitors in our gallery.”

The HCAC Board of Directors takes great pleasure in presenting our first exhibit of 2024, aptly titled “LOVE.” Through a diverse range of mediums such as paintings, glasswork, ceramics, quilting, jewelry, and more, HCAC artists skillfully convey their personal interpretations of love. Talented quilter and artist member, Julie Bagamar, says ,”My pieces in the LOVE exhibit are cheerful compositions inspired by experiencing love.”

This event not only marks the opening of an extraordinary exhibit but also serves as the launch of the Give a HeART project. Our dedicated artist members generously donate their time and art supplies to create unique pieces of art on wooden panel hearts. These exquisite hearts will be available for purchase in the gallery until the end of February, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Haywood County Arts Council. This year, why not surprise your valentine with a truly exceptional gift by opting for an art heart instead of the traditional flowers or chocolates?

The “LOVE” exhibit will captivate art enthusiasts until March 3, 2024. The Haywood Handmade Gallery will be open during the winter season from Thursday to Sunday, between 12 pm and 5 pm. For further details, please visit our website at www.haywoodarts.org.
