The John C. Campbell Folk School invites you to Forge After Dark, an event celebrating blacksmithing and community. On Friday, Nov. 6, from 6-10 p.m., enjoy live demonstrations, family-friendly activities, a food truck, a photo booth, and a warm bonfire.
Step into the Clay Spencer Blacksmith Shop to witness the extraordinary focus and strength of master blacksmiths in the forge as they coax red-hot metal into intricate designs and tools. Step outside of the studio to listen to the Alex Krug Combo, booked for the evening.
This free event invites all ages to experience the powerful artistry of traditional blacksmithing while supporting a cherished community institution. Don’t miss this celebration of craft, music, and fun!
Many items created at Forge After Dark will be prominently featured in the 2027 Blacksmith and Fine Craft Live Auction, scheduled to coincide with the end of Blacksmith Work Week, when many of the makers will be on campus. The auction will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2027, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
