July 22 - July 25
Folkmoot is pleased to announce the return of the annual festival and we are thrilled to tell you all about it. From Thursday, July 22 to Sunday, July 25, Waynesville will be chalked full of culture and celebration.
Here is a rundown of what you need to know:
This year’s Folkmoot Summerfest will take place at Lake Junaluska’s Stuart Auditorium and Nanci Weldon Outdoor Gym, Downtown Waynesville, and at your very own Folkmoot Friendship Center. You may notice slight differences in the programming; rest assured, the delivery of a colorful and joyful weekend remains the focus.
A celebration of American Cultural Diversity is the purpose of our gathering for the 37th Folkmoot. Four days to share the historical and unique exhibition of diverse lifestyles from around the United States. Street vendors, live performers, and much more to produce a cultural display for your enjoyment.
For the safety of our guests and entertainers, we will not be hosting international performers this year. However, artists from around the United States are taking part in our festivities to represent our nation’s colorful coexistence.
As Folkmoot moves forward post-pandemic, the excitement for the future grows. The long-term wellness of our community and organization remains the focus throughout the redevelopment of our programs and operations. Folkmoot is rebuilding under a new administration and adjustments have been made in response to recent challenges; a new festival schedule and a fresh look at the partnership with our supporting organization, Friends of Folkmoot.
Folkmoot takes all of its supporters into consideration and this newsletter is an expression of gratitude. To recognize and appreciate all you do for Folkmoot, please visit the link below to see the tickets for this year’s Summerfest, you are the first to get the news!
