Earth to Elkin

Celebrate Earth Day in Elkin at Earth to Elkin on Saturday, April 18th — a full day dedicated to enjoying and caring for the outdoors.

This all-day, choose-your-own-adventure style event invites you to explore, learn, and give back to the beautiful place we call home.

Start your morning at the Elkin Farmers Market supporting local farmers and craft vendors. From there, spend the day connecting with nature through a variety of activities. Take the kids on a Youth Birding Hike presented by American Aquatic, or lend a hand during the Community Litter Collection as part of our stewardship efforts. You can also head out for a self-guided hike on one of Elkin’s local trails and take in the beauty of the Yadkin Valley.

Wrap up the day at the Earth Day Rally at the Yadkin Valley Heritage & Trails Center from 4–8 PM, featuring live music, a food truck, and local vendors. Don’t forget your blankets or lawn chairs!
