2024 Smoky Mountain Bluegrass Festival

October 12

The Haywood County Arts Council (HCAC) is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated lineup for the 2024 Smoky Mountain Bluegrass Festival, which takes place October 12, 2024 at the Maggie Valley Fairgrounds. This year’s event promises to be a captivating showcase of exceptional musical talent.

Kicking off the show is the sensational Brew Davis, a rising star in the local music industry known for his unique Brewgrass sound.

Returning to the festival this year are the immensely talented Blue Ridge Girls. This remarkable trio will treat the audience to a mesmerizing blend of old-time, bluegrass, and country songs, showcasing their exceptional musical gifts.

Taking the stage next is the renowned band Nu-Blu, whose impressive track record includes four top ten Billboard albums. Known for their ability to seamlessly transition between upbeat, blazing-fingered pick work and heartfelt, soul-stirring ballads, Nu-Blu’s performance is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression. Their natural chemistry, forged through countless shows on the road, creates an unparalleled sense of togetherness that cannot be replicated.

By popular demand, Appalachian RoadShow will be making a triumphant return to the festival. Led by Grammy-nominated banjoist Barry Abernathy and Grammy-winning fiddler Jim Van Cleave, this group aims to celebrate and shed light on the rich culture and lifestyle of Appalachian music. Abernathy himself states, “With this group, we want to bring to light the culture and lifestyle of the Appalachian music we grew up in.” Their performance promises to be a captivating journey through the heart and soul of this beloved genre.

Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome back a crowd favorite, our own, Balsam Range, International Bluegrass Music Association multiple award winners. Fresh off the release of their latest album, “Kinetic Tone,” in December 2023, Balsam Range’s return to our stage is eagerly anticipated. Audiences can expect a mesmerizing display of talent as Balsam Range takes them on a musical adventure like no other. From heartfelt ballads to foot-stomping instrumentals, Balsam Range’s performance will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on all who have the pleasure of experiencing it.
