Two Creeks Pottery
Add to Trip

Jessica Wright’s pursuit of pottery began in 2003. She studied the craft at the Sawtooth School for the Visual Arts and at Surry Community College. After her third child was born, she started her own studio, Two Creeks Pottery. Jessica produces a variety of utilitarian pottery and tableware including coffee mugs, casserole dishes, bowls, plates, and serving platters. Her work is mid-range, high-fire pottery fired in an electric kiln featuring her own glazes. While her primary focus is traditional forms, she also enjoys exploring a variety contemporary styles, glazes, and techniques. A signature item from Two Creeks Pottery is the North Carolina tobacco leaf platter. These platters were designed to honor tobacco farming tradition of North Carolina, and each platter features the impression of an actual tobacco leaf from nearby fields.

Visitors to Two Creeks Pottery can see what it looks like to be a potter from the ground up. Jessica has built her studio in the family barn as time and sales have allowed. Pottery in all stages is on display. The space is optimized for her process and includes multiple wheels, a glazing station, and a photography area.

Two Creeks Pottery holds an Open Studio the weekend after Thanksgiving. At this event, guests are invited to see Jessica at work and learn more about her methods and process.
