Hearth Glass & Gallery
Add to Trip

Hearth Glass & Gallery is an open-access blown glass studio located in downtown Burnsville, NC, that houses fully custom, high-quality glass-blowing equipment, a cold-working studio, and a public gallery. Hearth offers daily rental space for artists, glass-blowing demonstrations, special events and glassblowing classes for the public.

Founded in March 2022 by fourth-generation glassworker Keikichi Littleton, Hearth Glass & Gallery aims to provide education and access for aspiring and professional glass artists to create and market their artwork in the Toe River Valley. Hearth also honors the legacy of Harvey Littleton by tending the flame for future generations of glass artists.

Visitors to Hearth Glass & Gallery will see how a former filling station garage provides an excellent hot shop. The former office features full-length windows and plenty of natural light to showcase the bright colors and flowing lines of the handcrafted glass. Hearth represents more than 25 different Western NC local glass artists. As the only 100% glass art gallery in the Toe River Valley, Hearth Glass & Gallery has a wide variety of both functional and sculptural glass art; including cups, vases, ornaments, bowls, lighting and one-of-a-kind blown glass art.
