Enjoy a Play and Support the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area

News Release

Through the generous donation of tickets by Charlotte Street Computers, the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Partnership is offering tickets to the Thursday, April 17th, 7:30 pm performance of the hilarious comedy, Dearly Departed, at the Asheville Community Theater, with all proceeds going to support the work of the Heritage Area.

In the backwoods of the Bible Belt, the beleaguered Turpin family proves that living and dying in the South are seldom tidy and always hilarious. Despite their earnest efforts to pull themselves together for their father’s funeral, the Turpin’s other problems keep overshadowing the solemn occasion.

Amidst the chaos, the Turpins turn for comfort to their friends and neighbors, an eccentric community of misfits who just manage to pull together and help each other through their hours of need, and finally, the funeral.

Tickets are $15 for the Thursday, April 17th, 7:30 pm performance, and can be purchased by calling Jan Pamfilis, 828-298-5330, ext. 301, or Beth Coleman, ext. 312.  If you are unable to attend on that day, consider purchasing tickets and donating them to others who might like to attend but who may not have the means.  Heritage Area staff will be happy to find recipients, and the donation will help support our work.

Mastercard and Visa, checks and cash are accepted.  Please make checks payable to BRNHA and mail to Jan at 195 Hemphill Knob Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
