ASHEVILLE, NC–Feb. 2026: ArtsvilleUSA is proud to announce Liminal Light: Winter’s Vigil, an evocative online exhibition opening February 18, 2026. Against the backdrop of a long winter and a region in flux, Liminal Light gathers the work of 11 craft artists across Western North Carolina, celebrating the power of human creativity to kindle hope in uncertain times.
This exhibition explores the unique quality of February’s light, the way it glimmers through bare trees, hinting at spring but lingering on the threshold between seasons. The artists of Liminal Light transform raw materials into objects of meaning: ceramic candleholders that cradle flames, fluorescent goblets that shimmer with possibility, flower lamps blooming in the cold, and luminescent jewelry that keeps light close to the heart.
More than beautiful, these works are acts of resilience. They are crafted arguments for light’s persistence, for the importance of making, and for the ability of hands to push back against despair. Amid ongoing climate recovery and political uncertainty, Liminal Light insists there is still beauty to be made, hope to be found, and light to be shared.
Participating artists include Angelique Tassistro, Erin Keane, Gertrude Graham Smith, Julie Louise Merrill, Katie Knorovsky, Kenny Pieper, Leah Baker, Mark DeShields, Pamella O’Connor, Patti Quinn Hill, and Travers Thurman.
The exhibition is exclusively online at ArtsvilleUSA.com, making it accessible to audiences everywhere. There is no official close date; the exhibition will be archived online at ArtsvilleUSA.com/tag/exhibition/. All participating artists are based in Western North Carolina and work in a craft-based medium.
