The scenic Blue Ridge Parkway winds through the Western North Carolina region for 252 miles, with overlooks and stops that offer breath-taking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains decked out in their exquisite fall colors. Along the way, travelers can stop at several locations and enjoy some of the finest traditional mountain music around.
The colors and beauty of fall foliage in the North Carolina mountains is unforgettable, but so is the music and people who play it, so it’s time to let your hair down, slow down and hoedown along the Blue Ridge Parkway! The following stops are in order north to south along the Parkway.
- Blue Ridge Music Center – Mid-Day Mountain Music: Milepost 213 near the NC/VA border, Free, Daily Noon to 4 PM.
- Appalachian Meeting Hall – Red White and Bluegrass Jam: Exit at Milepost 317.4 for Highway 221 South towards Linville and NC 105 North towards Foscoe, NC, Donation Suggested, Tuesdays 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
- Orchard at Altapass – Live Music: Milepost 328.3 near Spruce Pine, NC, Free, Wednesdays through Sundays, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
- Feed and Seed Bluegrass and Country Music: Exit at Milepost 393 for NC 191 North towards Asheville, NC, Donation Suggested, Fridays and Saturdays 7:30 Pm to 9:30 PM.
- Silvermont Mansion – Thursday Night Jam: Exit at Milepost 412 for Highway 276 South towards Brevard, NC, Free, Thursdays 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
