Tourism Development Officers with the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources assist the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area with coordinating initiatives in the region's twenty-five counties.

These state employees assist communities and organizations with locating funding and other resources to develop heritage projects and promote heritage tourism.
