Abigail Moore

Bluegrass musician Robbinsville, NC (Graham County)

Before her eighteenth birthday in June of 2006, Abigail Moore released her sixth album. The Graham County native is a bluegrass and gospel performer. She sings and plays the fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and bass. After taking music lessons in her early teens from Bill Millsaps of Robbinsville, she began playing and recording with the Snowbird Mountain Band, Bill and Wilma Millsaps‘ ensemble. She financed her first recording session with money from performances and babysitting.

At the age of fourteen she was introduced to Raymond Fairchild, who asked her to play him a few tunes. The next evening she started a seven-nights-a-week gig playing at the Fairchilds’ Maggie Valley Opry House. Fairchild also plays on four of Moore’s albums.  In 2007 she hosted a five-day bluegrass cruise, which departed from Charleston, South Carolina.
