Folkmoot is hosting local legend Darren Nicholson for an evening of local hospitality with food, beer and music. Darren is a Grammy Award Nominee, recipient of 5 International Bluegrass Music Association’s Awards and a born and raised Haywood County local. Currently, he records and tours as a full time, founding member of Balsam Range with all sorts of collaborative efforts each year.

Folkmoot, Blue Ridge Books and the Haywood County Public Library are continuing to bring The Southern Storytellers Supper Series, bringing southern culture and our region’s authors and musicians together for a unique night of food, fun and discussion.   Doors open at 5:30pm and dinner is served at 6:00pm.   A perennial favorite of Western North Carolina music lovers, Darren Nicholson – and his band – are hosting a concert and an open jam at the Queen Auditorium on Sunday, June 23rd.  Doors open at 5:00 pm, enjoy local food trucks, Bearwaters Brewery and Frog Level Brewery beer and wine. Performance starts at 6:00 pm for an evening of bluegrass and Americana music at the Queen Auditorium with the open jam to follow the regular performance.
