Sponsorship Options

We love it when organizations, businesses, and individuals ask how they can support the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area. It takes a community to spread the word about news and happenings around Western North Carolina. You’ve come to the right page if you’re interested in investing in our publications or events!

Magazines

Down the Road

We partner with Scott McLeod and his team at Smoky Mountain News to create two magazines highlighting the craft and music in our region. These publications provide excellent opportunities for local businesses and artists to advertise to a larger audience with a specific focus. Contact the advertising team to reserve your space early!

Blue Ridge Craft Trails Magazine (Release Date: October)

We’re excited to announce the upcoming launch of our new craft magazine. The first-ever Blue Ridge Craft Trails Magazine will contain feature stories on artists, galleries, events, and more with an emphasis on exploring the Blue Ridge Craft Trails. A directory of artists will be included, providing readers with the information needed to follow these trails on their own. The free publication will be available in galleries, visitor centers, and other regional locations, and it will be available online.

Down the Road, Blue Ridge Music Trails Magazine (Release Date: April)

Published annually, Down the Road (DTR) is the official magazine of the Blue Ridge Music Trails of North Carolina. It continues the tradition of sharing the stories of artists, bands, and events in WNC’s Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina. DTR is published each spring and includes event listings for concerts and festivals occurring throughout the year. The publication will be available at music venues, visitor centers, and other regional locations. The entire magazine will also be available online. Not sure what size advertisement will work best for you? Check out our 2024 DTR here, and discuss sizing with the Smoky Mountain News team.

Maps

The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area prints maps highlighting places of interest in the Western North Carolina region. There is also a specific map just for the River Arts District. The maps are supported through sponsors, and they are distributed throughout the region to visitor centers, hotels, and other regional locations. Local businesses, organizations, and artists are encouraged to contact Donna Ray Norton (donna@blueridgeheritage.com) to be placed on the interest list for future publications.

Events

Do you have an idea for a heritage-focused event? We’d love to hear more! We’re open to discussing how we can partner on events that promote WNC’s heritage in craft, music, agriculture, Cherokee people, and nature. To support our upcoming events or to propose something new, reach out to our Executive Director, Angie Chandler at angie@blueridgeheritage.com.
