Unto These Hills

May 29, 2021 - August 14, 2021

The season premiere of “Unto These Hills” signals an exciting, new day in Cherokee—one with extra considerations and safety precautions for you and your family. More than six million people have loved the heart-wrenching action and soaring triumph of this telling of the Cherokee story. Since its debut on July 1, 1950, “Unto These Hills” has told the tale of Cherokee life from 1780 to the twenty-first century. This is the original production, the Kermit Hunter version, performed again under the stars. Bring a blanket, a mask, and an appetite for heart-pounding drama.

As you enjoy the fresh air and the 2,100-seat, newly renovated Mountainside Theatre, it’s easy to get lost in the Cherokee story of struggle and uplifting triumph. Experience the power of Cherokee performing arts in a live production certain to move you. And now, in a safe and secure venue.

While at the Mountainside Theatre, all patrons must follow these requirements:

  • Wear a face mask at all times after exiting your vehicle, except when actively eating or drinking. Eat or drink only when seated.
  • Wear a face mask when you are seated, unless you are actively eating or drinking.
  • Wear a face mask any time you are not in your seat. This includes visiting the concession area, retail area, and the restrooms.
  • Observe social distancing any time you are outside of your seat.

Our retail operations and concession stands will be open at 7:00 p.m. and remain open through intermission. All retail and concessions will close after intermission. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only prepackaged food, popcorn, bottled drinks, coffee, and hot chocolate can be offered this season.

You and your family will be asked to take part in a health check/temperature screening upon your arrival. It’s fast, it’s easy, and it’s a necessary step in our community safety process. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms: Our box office agents will be happy to reschedule you for another night. Any individual with a temperature at or above 100.4 degrees will be refused entry to the venue.

If you’re unable to adhere to those guidelines, you will be asked to leave the theatre without a refund. Please help everyone around you enjoy the show.

There is a preshow at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8:00 p.m. nightly.
