A collaborative community show benefitting two nonprofits: Bounty & Soul and Black Mountain Center for the Arts

Sustenance will kick off with a free Opening Reception on April 4th from 5 to 6:30pm. Attendees will have a chance to meet the artists, mingle with representatives from both collaborating organizations, and enjoy complimentary refreshments. This reception will be a great opportunity to come together to celebrate the connection between art, food, and community. Sales from Sustenance will benefit both BMCA and Bounty & Soul. Tell your friends and come out for a good time supporting local art!

Art and food are essential forms of sustenance, nourishing both the creator and the consumer. This month’s group exhibition, Sustenance, encouraged artists to interpret sustenance broadly, whether as nourishment for the body, mind, or soul, or as the act of maintaining life and existence. Sustenance opens this Friday, April 4th, and goes through April 28th. This is an exciting exhibit because it is a collaboration between our nonprofit and Bounty & Soul. Sustenance celebrates the missions of both presenting organizations: Bounty & Soul, which is dedicated to “creating communities where everyone has the right and opportunity to eat well, be nourished, and thrive,” and BMCA, whose mission is to “bring the arts to the people and the people to the arts.”
