Independence Day Picnic

The Orchard at Altapass throws open the doors of the red barn, light up the grill, sweeten the iced tea, unfold the tables on the pavilion, and “dust” the dance floor in order to celebrate Independence Day–Orchard style–with their annual picnic.

Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, fairs, picnics, concerts, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies. The Orchard at Altapass steers clear of political speeches, doesn’t stand on ceremony, and leaves the fireworks to the towns, but offers up a day of family and friends, food and fun, and music—lots of music. Starting at 10:30 a.m., three bands will take to the stage to entertain and provide a background for dancing. Add bit o’ clogging and you have one exciting day of celebration.

The price of admission is a covered dish (enough to feed your family, staff, volunteers, and musicians; and please bring before 11:30 a.m.). Without a shared dish, the day will cost $15, which includes all the music and dancing you can stand, Orchard BBQ and buns, coleslaw, beans, and beverages. Food will be served until 2 p.m.
