Friday Night Concerts: Fiddlers in the Round: Joe Burdock, Sarah Adams, Geraud Barralon

February 10, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

We’re excited to feature these three distinctive regional fiddlers and their take on traditional tunes.
Joe “Burdock” Callaway is an old-time fiddler, multi-instrumentalist, and square dance caller currently living outside Athens, OH. He has performed all over the country both solo and with multiple bands including touring with his band Fiddle Pie in New Zealand and Australia.
Sarah Adams grew up playing Appalachian music in north Georgia. Her first instrument was the mandolin, which she started learning as a fourth grader in the year that Pick & Bow was founded (2008).  Over the years, she performed throughout the region with the Pick & Bow student band and in her sibling band, Three Arrows.

Géraud Barralon comes from Ardèche in the Rhône-Alpes region of France. Now married to a Brasstown native, he makes his home outside of Murphy, NC. With a background in Django Reinhardt style, rhythmic swing guitar, Géraud has performed many swing dances in Lyon with a group, Djoukil. He sings original and traditional French song accompanying himself on guitar, fiddle or octave mandolin publishing his first album in 2012 called “Comment faire du feu….avec ce qu’il reste” (How to make a fire with what is left), and his second album in 2019 called “La trace du Poète” (The Poet’s Trail). As part of the French Appalachian old-time band, Ida Red Trio, Géraud has played the bass for many contra and square dances both locally and abroad.

Our Friday Night Concerts in Keith House feature some of the finest regional and national acts performing eclectic roots music and offer something for everyone. We have standard seating, along with a family-focused social area in the Library and Lower Keith. Concerts are scheduled for most Fridays but check the schedule on our website before you head over.
