Color Beyond the Lines – World Premiere

June 21 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$20
Color Beyond the Lines

Hendersonville commemorates the 60th anniversary of the integration of its schools with a new film documenting the black community’s thirst for education when Color Beyond the Lines, a new film by David Weintraub and the Center for Cultural Preservation, premieres on June 21. But the story goes far beyond integration. According to Ronnie Pepper, President of Hendersonville’s Black History Research Group, “Going back to when our people were enslaved, we realized that if we were going to truly be free it was important to have a good education.”
The world premiere will include music by a special guest performer, the screening of the film and a panel discussion featuring local black leaders discussing the film and answering your questions.

Advanced registration is required. All tickets are $20 per person for the premiere at the Thomas Auditorium at Blue Ridge Community College. Sponsors get name recognition on all film publicity and discounts on tickets. All ticket buyers receive $5 off the DVD purchase if they buy it within 7 days of their ticket purchase (a link will be sent once you buy your tickets). All tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled.

This film was made possible by the Community Foundation of Henderson County, NC Humanities, Arts Council of Henderson County, The McGrady Family Fund, Jeff and Elizabeth Jennings, Helen Bishop and Susan Grider and the supporters of the Center for Cultural Preservation.
