Artist Bio:

Since their formation in 2019, Asheville-based Cast Iron Bluegrass has been forging a reputation as one of the region’s most compelling bluegrass outfits. Known for their signature blend of traditional three-part harmonies and modern songwriting sensibilities, the band has quickly become a favorite among fans of both classic and contemporary bluegrass.

Building on the success of their debut release, Cast Iron Bluegrass dropped their sophomore album, Flicker of Love, last year to critical acclaim. Hailed as “standard bearers” and “a band infused with passion and prowess,” the group continues to showcase their musical mastery while honoring the roots of the genre. Their ability to marry tradition with fresh, original compositions sets them apart in today’s bluegrass landscape.

The band features a powerhouse lineup of seasoned musicians, each bringing a wealth of experience and a deep love for the craft. Andrew Blythe (Bobby Hicks and Blue Wheel Drive), Nick Dauphinais (Mountain Faith, Larry Stephenson, Bobby Hicks, Mark Kuykendall and the Asheville Grass), Rob Sine (Bobby Hicks and Blue Wheel Drive), Celia Millington-Wyckoff (Rustical Quality String Band, Whetstone Run), and Adam Bachman (James Tucker, Wilson Banjo Company) collectively create a sound that is both deeply rooted and forward-thinking. Their most recent album also featured the extraordinary talents of two-time national fiddle champion James Schlender (Songs From the Road Band), adding yet another layer of virtuosity to their recordings.

Whether on stage or in the studio, Cast Iron Bluegrass delivers performances brimming with authenticity, heart, and undeniable skill. As they continue to push the boundaries of traditional bluegrass while staying true to its essence, the band solidifies its place as a leading force in the genre. With each note, Cast Iron Bluegrass proves that the fire of tradition still burns bright—now with a flicker of modern innovation.
