Appalachian Rib Basket Weaving Class with Joe Bruneau

Learn how to weave a 14”-16” melon or potato basket using locally harvested vines as frames and dyed rattan as primary weaving materials.

Joe Bruneau first learned basket weaving in 1983 while a student at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC and has been teaching ever since. His baskets will be on display at Zuma in Marshall NC (when they reopen), in April and May 2025.
