Qualla Creations creates modern gifts with Cherokee inspiration. Opened in 2019, the retail space seeks to support any local and native artist who makes modern or traditional items by providing a venue to showcase this work.
Visitors to Qualla Creations will see a retail space as well as the manufacturing department for Oconaluftee Gifts. Guests can watch the making of contemporary Cherokee gifts including arrowhead necklaces, bows and arrows, tomahawks, pea shooters, and more. Qualla Creations works to include Cherokee elements including basket weave designs, centuries-old gorget designs, Syllabary, and local attractions into their designs.
Contemporary products incorporating these elements include drinkware, magnets, keychains, stationery, and more. Also for sale from local artists are handmade baskets, pottery, woven belts, jewelry, paintings, carvings, wood burnings, and more.
Hours: Monday-Saturday 10 am-5 pm, Sunday 12-5 pm
