North Carolina Ceramic Arts Festival
Add to Trip

Potters take over Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville for the annual North Carolina Ceramic Arts Festival. In the heart of the city, with mountain vistas all around, this festival offers a look at what North Carolina potters can create from the soil. The North Carolina Ceramics Festival features a broad sampling of the styles and techniques of over 40 local and regional potters each October.

Not only are these 40 plus potters displaying work, a schedule of demonstrations gives visitors real-time insight into how the work is made. The schedule features multiple artists with each one demonstrating something unique about their own process. Awards are given for the best work on display at each year’s festival.

Visitors can take home unique ceramic pieces including pottery, clay jewelry, tile work, and sculpture, but there’s plenty more to experience. Local food vendors are on site, and a stage presents live music. Admission is free.
