Mountain Gallery and Gifts
Add to Trip

Catherine Bruggeman spent a career running retail exchanges for the Marine Corps. She’s also been an artist for more that 30 years. These talents came together when she bought a downtown Morganton building built in 1892 and started Mountain Gallery and Gifts. An artist well-versed in stained-glass, wire sculpture, and more, Catherine curates an exceptional variety of art and craft from more than 50 artists ranging in ages from teens to octogenarians. Almost all of the work in Mountain Gallery and Gifts is created in western North Carolina. Mountain Gallery and Gifts seeks to be a resource for artists, many of whom do not have work in other galleries, to have their work seen and purchased.

Mountain Gallery and Gifts is packed floor to ceiling with art and craft. Visitors will see a lower level and a mezzanine of work including stained glass, painting, pen & ink, pottery, metal, woodwork, metalwork, wax, silver jewelry, wire sculpture, fiber, gems, and more. The top floor is a teaching studio offering creative and fun workshops for individuals or groups by experienced and respected artists, for adults, children, and special events. Stained glass repair services and stained-glass supplies are offered for sale.

Hours: Tuesday–Thursday 11 am–4 pm, Friday-Saturday 10 am–6 pm
Open by appointment for private lessons and workshops before and after hours.
